That’s my match report from Durban’s Mabhida Stadium where the Dutch easily dispatched the Slovaks 2-1. The best of the rest of our experience is captured in the short video above.

Another snoozer? depressing to think that Italy was beaten by the Slovak team… For your daughters, a great experience anyway. The Durban stadium looks fantastic.
Clever idea those earplugs to offset vuvuzelas!
Great job Peter! Definitely captured the essence of a day out at the world cup in only 3:49. Nice.
You’re being a bit too hard on the match as a “snoozer”. At least it could be called “strategic”. I thought Slovakia played quite well, and missed the significant opportunites they had in the early second half. It certainly had a slow pulse, but it wasn’t on intensive care, like the Brazil/Portugal match we saw. The fans were the “man of the match” in that one, eh?
‘Strategery’ — in George W Bush’s mangled language — can be sleepy . . . especially if, like me, you thought, believed, hoped, wished a few days earlier that this round of 16 match would offer us Holland-Italy. Slovakia seemed slower than at Ellis Park against Italy, less focused or maybe a tad overwhelmed by the historic occasion.
